Re: Nagra 3 questions?
just have to wait and see.no one knows right now.
this is from arb
nagra 3& freetvers:First, there is no such thing as free TV. I put this in the rumor thread because I can't confirm Cyphris did post this thread .
But the post is a good post .So please bear with the dog .If this post is confirmed ,I will inform all .
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C/P :
First, there is no such thing as free TV.
You have to buy equipment & above all, learn how FTA works, & work at keeping your unit going.
Going by past experience, this is how Nag3 will work.
Nag 3 will not happen all at once or overnight.
The switch will take a few days to weeks. The providers will take it slow to be sure their subs are not affected.
The providers will hit the ppv & porn channels first, then the premium channels, with the locals being last.
The coders will not release any bin files (If they have files to release) until the provider is completely blacked out. If the coders release too early, the provider can counter attack.
The first bins released will most likely be AUX bins, using the rom 102-103 cards. For Nag 2, these AUX bins were run on some units until bins were released for Nag 2.
What does this mean to you?
It means you better have have some kind of back up.
What did you watch before FTA?
Most old timers still have units with card readers & open cards to run AUX programs. Back ups can range from rabbit ears to subscriptions.
The porn addicts & freetvers will beg & cry, because they think they have a right to free TV. Nobody owes you anything in this hobby.
Testers, those of us who do this as a hobby, always have back up.
We will switch to our back ups, watch TV, quietly read on the sites & watch for new developments.
When DTV killed the HU stream, some said it was the end, many ppl dropped out, never to be heard from again.
Testers, found an alternate way to get TV, if Nag 3 is never hacked, we will find another way to get TV, you can take that to the bank.
The True FTA Channels will always be there, it may not be what you want, but, it will beat rabbit ears.
Nag 3 is coming, like it or not, get prepared, moaning, groaning, & crying won't change that.
Be ready, accept it, change with the times or get out of the hobby...

Re: Nagra 3 questions?
this is a bit of an older post, but it does heed important information concerning N3. the other part that has come to light is that N3 is not much different than N2. the key idea is that the codes will NOT come out until the provider is completely blacked out. the coders know that, and so do the providers.
ARB is right -- Nobody owes you anything in this hobby.
But I sure love testing!!
