Is FTA going out in the near future
I have been hearing that the FTA recievers will not be working after December due to data stream changes. Has anyone else heard this or is it just a rumor?

True fta will always work but if you're using it for bev it's already is down and dn will follow sometime soon. No idea for how long it will last though.

H was replaced by the "unbreakable" Hu card. The they hit us with Black Sunday and the HU's were dead....for about a week. Then we went thru several variations till the unbreakable Nag1. Which was promptly broken. Then the really, really unbreakable Nag2. Which was really, really broken. Now we have the unbreakable Nag3. Anyone see a pattern here, or is it just me?

Listen guys, there is always someone smarter then you, and you can relate that to the battle between the good, which i guess would be fta receiver coder teams, and the bad which would be echostar. Coding teams on our side continue to out smart there counterparts and will do so in the future...with that being said, the amount of money that continues to line the pockets of the manufactuers of fta receivers, the demand for a fix to the nag 3 issue, will only further increase there greed. We are in great shape at the moment, yes we are down, but everyday there is a break through.
Patience my friends, spend your time during the holidays worrying about your family, not about your tv...and leave the rest to coders and my fellow employees' of this site, we will relay any info we receive as soon as we get it.

Well said everyone! It is not going to do any good worrying about what MAY happen in the future...enjoy what we have now and realize that in the morning it could be gone!! But I have faith in all the people that have helped us for years, and I know somehow, someway they'll find a fix....it just may be later than sooner. Like SDTC said, make sure you have something to keep you busy, because when it does go there will be a void in a lot of lives. So make sure you have a plan to fall back on....and be patient!!! We'll always have ABA and each other!!! lol
