Re: what is te best HD
If you are strictly interested in price, the answer is likely the Captain 8000.
Read the reviews, check out the file support for any receiver before punking down your $$$.

Re: what is te best HD
nothing left to say.each post thus far i agree with.good clean facts.
(i don't know personally about pic quality of vs 9k pic being best tho)
well here's another one,i guess i should add something lol.
pansat 9200 is the way to go for C band users.
dvb-s2 add on and you get many more true fta HD channels.
it has 3rd party support also.but its basic and kinda buggy in that aspect.
but its best for those with 10-12 footers.
sv 8k is the HD dream machine.

Re: what is te best HD
I own a Pansat 9200HD and have been very happy with the features and picture quality! It gets a bit expensive after having to purchase the 8-PSK card for DN channels, but it's eventually pays itself off!
Not familiar with any other brands.

Re: what is te best HD
Pansat 9200HD would be my Stb of choice...(For Watching only, or w/DVD recorder)
But if you are looking to get PVR/Hdd/Esata as well......another brand may be your choice.
The software in the in 9200HD formats to Dr.Dos2 (Fat16) we have tried windows 98,98SE,ME,XP,& Vista(why bother), And can't get an Esata box to be recognised successfully....So this means what is on the Hdd stays on the Hdd until deleted (you can't tranfer to DVD/disk or hard drive).
And the pvr functions aren't quite right... You need to manually push record & stop etc. ( timer/program functions aren't right) (all info is from our testing only)
If anyone has successfully got the esata for the 9200HD working I would love to hear from you to pass on the news and info to fellow testers...
