Re: need some advice
man if you do some research this is very easy to do. and once you do it once, then you will be able to run wire all over when ever you want to run new wire for another stb.

Re: need some advice
Use RG6 Sat Cable.
Do you have all of the tools needed to do the job correctly. If not, its really not worth your time.

Re: need some advice
RG-6 is worth the little extra money, but that's neither here nor there just be careful. I don't like to draw a lot of attention to what i'm doing unless I know someone vary well. Good Luck Bro! AS for $ name your price.

Re: need some advice
it is almost the same but rg6 is for satellite it has a larger core which will give you a better signal and a better pic .. especially ata longer distance .. do not use rg5 it really for cable ..
almost all cable companies are using rg6 now too for a better connection you can do it all yourself it is easy just run it and get good f connectors too

Re: need some advice
you need wire strippers and a crimping tool (a must) they go for about 20-30 dallars and for price it depends on if you have to run it through house or does it have hookups in the house already from previous set up.if you just have to run from dish to where it goes into house not as bad ,and it would be around 100 bucks.

Re: need some advice
I get a standard "donation" for installs...$50 per stb...$50 for a Dish....$50 for multiroom cable....=) (all include a general tutorial on puter setup and "maintaining operation")

Re: need some advice
Not sure how well you know this person, but you should at least mention the fact that he will get a better connection with the upgraded cable. You install the other and the pic is not very good, he may blame you....just a thought.
Good luck and be careful.
