What do all our ABA members think about n3 - ABA DSS

I thought i would post this question knowing full well the ups and downs of our members opinions but its fun to speculate....

With this in mind please keep your opinions respectful of all our members that may not share your view on whats to come.

I will start with my own: This is not going to be a quick fix by any stretch, it will most likely get a full fix but not necessarily with the boxes we have now. Only the boys in the know really understand what would be required to achieve this and to be completely honest we don't know if any stb (including nfusion) will be able to support a fix if and when it comes.

There.....What do you guys/gals think.

i think its gonna be the same thing as last year.. 2 months no tv.. time to hook up the comcast basic service again =p

Well, I think that in time some of the fta units with a fair amount of memory might make the change. Or perhaps they will figure out a way of making usb sticks create more memory for some of the units. It doesn't make sense to me that all the manufacturers are going to throw their hands up in the air and say .. oh well.. it was fun while it lasted. Too much money involved. On that side of the fence, I did read an articule (for what this is worth) that dn is expecting piracy for another couple of years which indicated to me that they are expecting a solution for nag3 and now have future plans to address the piracy problem again down the road.

That said .. I do believe that nfusion is probably going to be the wave of the future. If not nfusion, then a new game will emerge. Its all about the money. Whatever happens count me in for the ride no matter how bumpy it gets along the way.

Well... since we are allowed to speak our suspicions ... :P
BEV has been down for about 3 months, and no sign or hint of anything coming. I know they claim that the fix would not be released until DN goes N3, but that doesn't really hold much water with me. The only reason to wait is maybe to not show an exploit that DN could patch... even then... they'd figure it out anyway.

I'm tempted to follow along with the OP, that many boxes aren't going to be useful without hardware upgrades; and that stores are trying to clear their inventory. Couple that with DN's waiting to go N3?

I think there is collusion with providers and FTA elite

I think Nagra 3 will not be cracked in a foreseeable future. Therefore, there will be no more file updates and fixes, the way they are now for Nagra 2, neither for existing, nor for new FTA receivers.

What we are going to see is more workaround solutions like IKS and other ways of card sharing and alike.

I heard a lot about a dtv hack back in the day also, and I am still waiting. IKS has it's limits also but my fingers are crossed.

Well my friend This is a hobby, so i look at it that way, as long as we have this site i will continue to come here and support this site, so i hope that keeps me busy and i always stressed to everyone this is a hobby so always have backup. Take Care everyone.

Well i thank it will come but don't expect it over night a lot of smart cats out there that will be working on it so have a back up plan for a while and maybe a long while

I think that the fix will come but may not for some time. The work around on some of the IKS receivers will make it bearable. In time will be back to normal.
