Any thoughts on whether dongles will be made for non iks boxes, you would think with serial interfaces available on most boxes and with firmware updates this will be possible.

it will be a very long time....maybe forever for non-IKS....

lets use some common sense here....

bev and DN are spending tens of millions, or maybe even hundreds of millions of dollars on nag3....they wouldnt be doing this if there was any chance of it being hacked in the near future.....

they are not homer simpson....and they are not going to simply sit there and say D'OH !!

perhaps someone can explain this:
if bev and dn have the same n3, why is that nfusion can provide a lot of channels that are n3 including international channels for bev and cannot provide dn international channels that are n3?

Well this are the dates so far all over the FTA

Dish Service Takedown Schedule

Programming services that are supported on the Aladin (old) Smart Cards will be taken down based on the staggered schedule below.
The dates in parentheses are when reminder pop-up messages will begin appearing on an affected customer’s TV screen.

4/1/09 = Adult programming (pop-up reminder messages begin 3/18).

4/8/09 = HD programming, Starz, and Encore (pop-up reminder messages begin 3/25).

4/15/09 = Latino programming, Showtime, HBO, and Cinemax (pop-up messages for Latino begin 3/25 and for Showtime, HBO, and Cinemax begin 4/1).

4/22/09 = Classic Gold 250 (pop-up reminder messages begin 4/8).

4/29/09 = Classic Silver 200 (pop-up reminder messages begin 4/15).

5/27/09 = Last round of on-screen messaging begins on 5/6 for any remaining services.

All remaining services (including local network programming) will be shut off to Aladin Smart Cards by 5/27.

What is iks and what kind of equipment is required? Do you need high speed internet? Thanks in advance for any info?

Hi all
I have been talking to a few friends and fta hobbiest in europe about IKS and i have been told that you can scan hotbirds FTA only and get hundreds of channels dont even need the net?Programing you see on cable tv are PPV on birds as well for those paying customers.for example CNNI is on Astra sat Fta /need a 2.4 meter dish.
In europe it seems they have no legal problems and the huge sales in sat equipment and cable tv!!!every one is happy goverments are rich maybe there is some thing to be learned from the way they think.
LET THE DREAM LIVE ON AND THERE WILL BE MONEY FOR EVERY ONE !!!!!!!!
