Happy Easter to the entire ABA Family on this, Easter Sunday 2009
I'm sure that many of you will have your Morning filled with the excitement of egg hunts, after all its the one day where its ok to have at least 8oz.of Chocolate for Breakfast before Church.
1) What is the origin of the word "Easter"?
A: "Eostre", the ancient Anglo-Saxon goddess of the dawn.
2)Easter is a combination of religious and pagan rituals. Religiously, it celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. What is its pagan significance?
A: The celebration of Spring
3) At Easter, rabbits are used to symbolize what?
A: Fertility.
4) The visit of the Easter bunny is based on what?
A: A German fable about coloring eggs so they could be identified in case of famine.
5) Why are white flowers predominant at Easter?
A: White symbolizes Christ (purity, majesty).
6) What is the connection between Easter and Passover?
A: Passover in Hebrew is "Pesach"; in Europe Easter is also called "Pesach"
7) Easter begins with Lent, a period of penitence, which lasts for how many days?
A: 46.
8) In what country would you find an ancient Easter tradition called "Smingus-Dyngus" -- a custom of people pouring or splashing water on
each other?
A: Poland
9) Why was Easter Island called "Easter Island"?

I had a great time at several Easter get togethers yesterday with my family and their kids, dogs, cats. goldfish, etc ... there was a big
Easter egg hunt and I learned a few things about Easter, direct from the Bunny himself:
ALL I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LIFE
I LEARNED FROM THE EASTER BUNNY
Don't put all of your eggs in one basket
Walk softly and carry a big carrot
Everyone needs a friend who is all ears
There's no such thing as too much candy
All work and no play can make you a basket case
A cute little tail attracts a lot of attention
Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day
Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits
Some body parts should be floppy
Keep your paws off other people's jellybeans
Good things come in small sugarcoated packages
The grass is always greener in someone else's basket
An Easter bonnet can tame even the wildest hare
To show your true colors you have to come out of your shell
The best things in life are still sweet and gooey
God bless you all and especially our Troops, home and abroad, and their families, today of all days. Each of us hold this day in a special regard, so take a moment to contemplate and be thankful for all that we have. Remember those less fortunate and help whenever you can. Let your loved ones know how much you care. This is a day to celebrate life and forgiveness.
